• Try to take your child’s normal schedule in to account when planning.  Traveling with kids usually doesn’t involve sleeping in and taking it easy, so be prepared to get up when they do and starting out early.
• Don’t plan too much – leave time for you to stay at an attraction that’s especially enjoyable or to handle any minor emergencies that pop up (diaper blow-outs, food spilled on clothing, etc.)
• Be Flexible! Traveling with kids can be unpredictable, so make sure that you are paying attention to how they are handling the pace you are going and adjust it accordingly.
• Make sure to plan for activity time for your child. Schedule in a park or playground to help them burn off some energy.
• If you plan to push hard one day, make sure to take it easier the next. This will help you all avoid vacation burnout.
