• Have your child pack and carry their own small bag. Most children love this idea, plus it’s stuff you don’t have to carry.  Include colors and a coloring book, a few toys, and some snacks for the trip.
• Pack a clean shirt in your carry-on bag.
• Always have crayons and a coloring book in your diaper bag or backpack.  Many restaurants do not provide them.
• Bring any childproofing items you might need (night lights, socket plugs, bedrails, etc.)
• Dress in layers. Airplane temperatures can fluctuate. Make sure that you are prepared for anything.
• Don’t pack a lot of toys.  If you will have a car at your destination, “Dollar Stores” are a great place to pick up some cheap toys for your kids that can be thrown away before going home.
• If possible, purchase baby food and diapers at your destination.  With airlines charging $25 or more for heavy suitcases, it will be worth it to pay a little extra for them.  You can arrange for services that deliver them to your hotel before you arrive!
